Our story

The courtyard came first. The kitchen was built around it, because the point was never the food on its own — it was people staying at the table long after the plates were cleared.

Aangan cooks the North Indian food we grew up on, without the shortcuts that make it quick. Lentils go over low heat the night before. Spice is ground in the morning for the day it is used. The tandoor is charcoal, and it is lit once.

Some of it is inefficient. All of it is on purpose.

Before you come

The things people ask.

Anything not covered here, message us — someone in the kitchen will answer, usually within the hour.

Do I need to book?

Weeknights you can usually walk in. Friday and Saturday evenings fill up, and we hold tables for about fifteen minutes past a booking. Booking takes a minute on WhatsApp.

Is there parking?

There is free parking for about a dozen cars behind the building, off Station Road. Two-wheelers can park in the front courtyard.

Is the menu marked for veg and non-veg?

Yes, every dish on the menu and on the website carries the marker. Jain preparations can be arranged with a day of notice.

Can you handle a large group?

Yes. The courtyard seats twenty-eight for a set menu, and the main room takes parties up to about sixteen without booking the whole space. Tell us the date and headcount and we will send options.

Do you deliver?

We deliver within Maynaguri ourselves, and further out through the usual apps. Ordering direct is cheaper for you and for us — message us and we will take it from there.

What about allergies?

Tell us when you book and again when you order. Most dishes can be made without dairy or nuts, though the kitchen is small and we will not claim it is a nut-free environment.

Get in touch

Book a table, or just ask us something.

WhatsApp is fastest — it goes straight to the phone behind the pass. For a party of more than ten, tell us the date and headcount and we'll send options back.
